MUSEUM SHOP

Baksi as a museum trying to conceive its own boundaries, beyond conventional boundaries and hierarchical structures; become a place that brings art, crafts and design together in its own pace. The first exhibition, "Tradition and Art", presents the "Nine" project, which is composed of clothes designed by Özlem Süer from ehram fabric; in the second exhibition "Distance and Contact", we saw different projects from different design branches, from the local people, and uniqueness projects realized with the local people and Baksı's craft workshops in interaction with children. Within the framework of the most recent 10th Anniversary Celebration, Özlem Yalım conducted a project that brings together 9 designers around the concept of "Charm". This collection, specially designed for the museum store, is exhibited at the 10th Contemporary Istanbul.

Phoenix
Phoenix 0 tl. Atilla Kuzu, 2015 It is controversial whether the phenomenon referred to as charm in the society is real or not, the moment structure which can be explained by the centeral gravity in the structure; load sharing seems to be contrary to the rules of gravity. This object, which created in the impression that it seems to be contrary to gravity, was designed to imply phoenix bird, whose existence for centuries has not been defined and which is considered to be a legend, as a "charm" with its setup.

Thorn Necklace
Thorn Necklace 0 tl. Ela Cindoruk, 2015 This design of the Bayburt region was created as a collection of jewelry, inspired by the desire to turn one of the plants into a shadow, to a permanent product, such as flowers dried between books. It was made as a memorial piece that belongs to that geography.

Evil eye
Evil eye 0 tl. Hülya Çelik Pabuççuoğlu, 2015 According to some definitions, the representations and symbols which are called superstitious beliefs are still important today in Bayburt and its villages. One of the most important of these traditions is to tie a cloth to the "Huykesen Tree" in BAKSI. Designed with a a cloth to be tied to the Huykesen Tree in the Bayraktar Village as a symbol of a wish, the designs of the evil eye made to keep this ritual alive are shaped to be kept by the people.

Paga 0 tl. Demir Obuz, 2015 Paga was conceived as a tree to which you can tie your charm for your hopes and wishes. Iconographic design also includes a participatory element that allows the user to create his / her own aesthetic. Designer's note: 'I wish you all the best wishes with this tree; may it brings the luck to its’ owner '

Road 0 tl. Şule Kılıç, 2015 Baksi Museum transforms the museum visit into a "road" story based on the geography in which it is located. This out-of-the-ordinary position stays in the memories of its own created atmosphere, and a "path" emerges as a product. The design was created with the imagination as a wish candle stand, which has the topography of the region visible on it.

Seed Storage Box 0 tl. Akın Nalça, 2015 The genetics of plants and other living things bearing the charm codes of nature are being changed by irresponsible human intervention. The Seed Storage Box, while we have rarely encounter the familiar tastes today, has the potential to create the cabinet of their own rarities, is designed to be an instrument of action that they can continue their re-generation.

Muska Bag 0 tl. Selçuk Gürışık, 2015 Dr. H.S.Gürışık shines with the Anatolian felting with the products that he brought up to date. Muska is a collection of handbags that the Baksi Museum created from its cultural and geographical values and designed with its team; implies the charm theme with its form; also the patterns on the product bring a new interpretation to the traditional evil eye. The collection of bags that are made with vibrant colors are entirely handmade and provide different usage options.

Fruit Plate 0 tl. Sezgin Aksu, 2015 Designed by using wood, which is a material that nature gives us, this product was thought of with its simple form and function, considering Bayburt. In the design consisting of rods and main body, the pieces are joined together like ying-yang and the user can reveal his own product. The designer states that he designed the fruit container because he loves eating fruits.

Nafs 0 tl. Defne Koz, 2015 The retina held in a circle with strings was thought to float in space. The person carrying the design on their neck, above the chest line, will have a contemporary interpretation of the evil eye talisman in our traditions with this attractive object.
